What is the Beltane Fire Festival?

With the nights getting longer again and the chill starting to be taken out of the air, Beltane Fire Festival is a celebration that summer is on its way, in a truly unique fashion.

Based on ancient Celtic traditions dating back millennia, the festival takes advantage of the night to create unique fire displays and performances with the city as its backdrop. It doesn’t take place on one stage but in little pockets all around the park where you can right up close to the performers.

When does Beltane Fire Festival take place?

The event takes place at 8pm on Monday 30th April. It runs until 1am.

Where does Beltane Fire Festival take place?

Beltane Fire Festival takes places on Calton Hill, roughly 800m from our location on St Giles St.

    How much do tickets cost?

The average price of a ticket is £11 for adults and £5.50 for children. You can purchase them in advance here. In recent years the event has sold out, and there haven’t been any additional tickets released on the day.
